Learn about Limerick’s history with a visit to the Treaty Stone, dating back to the 1600s. It’s the perfect spot for a selfie with the Stone! The Treaty Stone is the rock that the Treaty of Limerick was signed in 1691, marking the surrender of the city to William of Orange.
Limerick City Museum adjacent to the Savoy Collection illustrates the history of Limerick and its people. The story of Limerick city and county is presented through the museum’s objects, from Stone Ages axes to medieval coins, from the civic sword of Queen Elizabeth I to medals presented to veterans of the 1916 Rising.
The museum is open Monday – Friday and admission is free
The Three Bridges Walk begins at Arthur’s Quay Park and follows a stunning 3.6km route along the banks of the majestic River Shannon passing some of Limerick’s most iconic landmarks along the way. If time is of the essence, the Three Bridges route is an excellent way to get a sense of the city.

The Limerick Milk Market is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Hunt Museum is a must see for both tourists and locals! It exhibits one of Ireland’s greatest private collections of art and antiquities, dating from the Neolithic to the 20th Century, including works by Renoir, Picasso and Yeats.
Admission is FREE every Sunday.
Limerick City Gallery of Art, one of the leading contemporary art galleries in Ireland, conveniently located in the historic Carnegie Building in the People’s Park. Located in the 19th century, Georgian styled Pery Square, the Gallery is almost 70 years old, open since 1948.
The Gallery is home to an important collection of Irish 18th – 21st century art in all media, amounting to over 831 works.
